We are delighted to announce that Nick Durkin, recently retired from his position as Bursar at Charterhouse, has joined the team at Athis as an Associate. Nick has worked in education in a bursarial capacity for 34 years, firstly, in higher education (St Catherines College, Oxford; Reading University; Hatfield College, Durham; and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge) and more recently, in the independent schools sector (Clifton College, Bristol and Charterhouse School, Surrey). During this period there has been a growing trend for educational establishments to seek to use their assets more intensively and maximise their non-fee income from peripheral activities (principally lettings and sports facilities) and Nick has been a strong advocate of this policy. He is therefore ideally placed to advise and help in such matters.
